Campfires and the beginning of summer

ImageOn Thursday we had the first fire of the season. Though it was still technically spring, with everyone wrapped up in hoodies and pants, it felt like the beginning of summer. There is something magical about sitting around a fire with friends, staring at the bounding flames in between sharing stories.  With everyone’s faces only slightly illuminated by the orange flames people tend to open up and share new stories. Perhaps the darkness makes them feel safe, or the flames comfort them, but I do find I learn more about my friends whenever we spend an evening outside surrounding a fire. May there be many more this summer!
