My visit to Atlanta may have been brief, but I managed to cram plenty in.
One of my favorite finds was Hotlanta Yoga. It’s in a building that seems nondescript except for the great mural outside. The yoga studio was upstairs and was visually impressive, with old wood floors and brick walls and a mural painted along one wall. I managed two classes in the two days I was there, both with Damien as an instructor.
One was more of a yoga basics class, which was a great way to get a solid foundation and tweak small things. The other class I did was more of a power yoga class and left me feeling incredibly humbled and inspired. He led us through a series of arm balances that left me sweating and shaking while someone at the front of the class made it look incredibly easy. There were plenty of not so advanced moves as well, but it was great to challenge myself in those arm poses that I don’t usually try by myself.
They have all sorts of classes at Hotlanta, including some really advanced ones. I wish I’d been able to try more of them!
