Cherry Picking at Fix Brothers

I went to the Hudson River Valley for the long holiday weekend, just in time for Sour Cherry season. I’d missed the sweet cherries by a week, but since I’d wanted to go cherry picking for a couple of years now, it didn’t really matter what kind I got.

Fix Brothers fruit farm was gorgeous. There were rows of different fruit trees and a nice view as well. And the trees were packed with glowing cherries.

If you ever go cherry picking, go with a group of friends. We had so much fun and the buckets filled up very quickly.

I only filled mine halfway up, but when I pitted all the cherries I measured them- I had just over 16 cups of cherries! They are now happily portioned out, chilling in the freezer until I come up with a delicious recipe to use them in.
