There’s a reason Agatha Christie and so many others set their novels in small towns- they are full of interesting characters, mysteries (and murder, in the case of Christie).
Small town bulletin boards help spread the word- who has had a baby, who died, whose child is now old enough to babysit, etc. Every once in a great while though, something interesting appears. Overnight, this message appeared on the chalkboard:
“Good New Husband Wanted.”
No one seems to have any idea who wrote it, but someone then added “(I know one)”.
And someone else added “Old Wife Available.”
It made me laugh- it’s certainly a good representation of small New England towns! I hope it makes you smile as well.
